CHI at Temple Street wanted a dramatic reconstruction of a paediatric trauma event to be used as a video training asset for ED staff. They needed it to feel authentic with meticulous attention to medical detail and procedure. And not bore the pants off the audience. Some video briefs come at you from left of field and this was definitely one of those.
Effectively a mini episode of Casualty. But shot in a day. On a fraction of the budget. Utilising an array of real first responders; the fire brigade, paramedics, ED medics and nurses, we developed, directed and delivered a 25 minute film with TV production values. Throughout, we worked closely with our client, a paediatric consultant, to capture the correct terminology and process before weaving these elements into a dramatic visual narrative that would both illuminate and entertain.
The film is the go-to asset for paediatric trauma training in Ireland and has been shared internationally and is now also used extensively by medical teams in Australia, the Middle East and the US.
